Sunny Sunshine Coast Wins - August 2013

The Sunshine Coast in July and August has always been popular as it gets those who live in the southern states away from their chilly Winter. This year was no exception with idyllic golfing weather of around 23 degrees. The courses over the preceding months endured a tremendous amount of rain, but were very well drained and motorised carts were allowed on all the courses we played.

 Ray Lawrence (Hcp 18) from The Lakes Golf Club raced away with the Mens  Section by averaging an amazing 36 points over his highest 6 rounds from 7  played to  beat Jack Tuckfield (Hcp 23) also from The Lakes Golf Club by 12  shots.

 Going into the final round of the Ladies Section at the Palmer Coolum Resort,  only 4 shots separated 4 ladies.  Judy Johnston (Hcp 40) from NSW came from  behind with a score of 28 points which was enough to overtake her  competitors and get up to win by a single stroke from Rayma Pattrick (Hcp 40) from Concord.
