Kunming, China - A beautiful city - March 2014

Golf courses in Kunming provided some magnificemt challenges and amazing vistas. Stoneforest shown above has to be seen to be believed and words fail to do justice in describing the experience that is Stoneforest.

Jan Davis (Hcp 17) from The Lakes G.C.carded a magificent 41 or 12 over par at the "A" Course at Stoneforest on the way to winning by a clear 3 shots from Cliff Farr (Hcp 30) Ryde-Parramatta G.C. The courses were not "push-overs" and when you consider that the Robert Trent Jones Jnr. course at the Spring City Resort is considered the No.1 best course in the whole of China, it was a great effort. Of course the Chinese caddies in the Kunming area made our stay so much more enjoyable. The variety of courses we experienced throughout Kunming area was amazing - Nick Faldo, Robert Trent Jones Jnr., Curley & Schmidt, Jack Nicklaus - designers who created their masterpieces for us to enjoy. Look for the AVGA's return to the amazing Kunming area next year.
